Plan to replace the color toners perhaps twice and the black three times or more with normal use, unless something breaks. This means lots of black and white copies or a few color ones, which you must manually select to preserve imaging unit life. With 6000 color or 20000 black and white copy life for the imaging unit (drum), which is almost the price of the printer, this is the practical life of the unit. Comes with partially filled starter toner cartridges. I have gone through five inkjets in that time, all killed by clogging and head failure.Ĭons: Supplies expensive, but the cost per page drops with larger capacity replacement cartridges. I am hoping this lasts as long as the monochrome laser it is replacing. One could not want more currently in a personal printer, especially if you only print occasionally. INCREDIBLE BARGAIN for folks who print mostly in black and white and only sometimes in color. Screamingly fast in black and white, not slow in color. Great and easy paper handling including envelopes. Not better than six color (or more) photo inkjets, but this is not what it is for.
